I played recreational soccer on a league with a bunch of Europeans years ago. Between the cheap shots (when the ref wasn't looking) and the diving (when the ref was looking), I lost all respect for the players.

Let's hope Tebow gets a chance to play next year in Florida. Love him or hate him, he added a whole lot of excitement to the game.
I don't hate him at all, I just don't buy into the hype. He is more known for off the field crap than on the field. I wish he would get the chance to show us if it is real or not. He really hasn't had the chance to show anything. I think Rex Ryan is a jerkoff for even bringing him to NY to not give him a chance when dirty Sanchez throws picks like it's in his contract.
I must have seen something different last season then
Seems to me he did fairly well with the Broncos and might have shown some potential. Heck, he won the Heisman and set some records in college. I'm just basing that on what I saw on the field, not whatever went on outside.
It would have been really interesting if he'd been able to mentor under Manning this year and improve the more traditional passing side of his game. You could always see, as soon as Tebow got the ball, he was looking to run. He didn't take enough time to make a pass happen. Get him to slow down a bit, who knows what could develop. I have no idea why the Jets picked up his contract though.
Jacksonville needs all the help they can get right now, I'm not sure just a different QB is going to do the trick. But you know people aren't going to leave early when Tebow is QB
Futbol de Americano es my confusico.

The problem with Tebow has always been that college success doesn't equate to NFL success with the way he plays. "Run around and make something happen" is a viable strategy is a game where you're as big or bigger than most of the guys on the defense chasing you. But in the pro game, where the defenses are twice as big and twice as fast, it's not a recipe for long-term success. You may certainly experience some short term success with that method, but teams will quickly learn to contain it (should you happen to live long enough for them to figure it out).
So NFL success isn't simply about athleticism, but applying that athleticism to one of the exhaustively studied and planned positions on the field. If Tebow can find that fit, I think he'll be very successful. And maybe it is at QB, but in that case his style and motion would need a LOT of work.

I'm pretty sure that Tebow is smart enough to realize that he needs help in the throwing department .... that said he doesn't seem to be trying to do anything about that on his own ... like hiring his own qb coach ( especially in the off season )
if he could improve his throwing, and if he could land with a team that has a decent running back I don't see why he couldn't live quite nicely in a read option offense ( like the Redskins ) but he would have to realize that his running the ball would have to be the last option if he wants a long career ( even as big as he is )
So what are these "playoffs" of which you speak? I thought the draft was next.
Sincerely,
A Lions Fan

Talk about a team whose record really doesn't reflect how good of a team they are. They played some good football this year but seemed to lose too many games in the last few minutes.
I admit to being completely ignorant of all football-related things, but if the Bengals go on to the Superbowl, does that mean that Baltimore does not? If so, I am all for it. Go Bengals!
Whoa, Lovie Smith getting fired is a bit of a surprise. Everyone else deserved the boot.

I really wish Suh had just pulled a Costanza on that one "Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? Cuz' I had no idea that sort of thing was frowned upon."
In reply to kazoospec:
If Suh does it again, he will have a contract waiting for him in Dallas and Oakland. They love the bad guys.
