I'd prefer double fines for people found guilty instead of charging people who are innocent any type of fine.

Wow! Talk about outsourcing responsibility. One more reason why I'm glad I left Massachusetts years ago. I wonder if Mitt will get asked about this in the debate tonight.

I envy you
Wow, that's berkeleyed. Like, break out the pitchforks and torches berkeleyed.
"You didn't do anything wrong, but here's a fine anyway". Doesn't that violate the 4th Ammendment?

The second I typed that, whispered it too. LOL One of my all time favorite movies. Haha
so cops can just hand out random tickets to anyone and everyone for any or no reason at all, and the state will get paid no matter what?
gee.. i wonder why they are trying to get rid of the 2nd amendment..

Massachusetts has to be that way in order to balance-out California. Otherwise, the continent would tilt towards the Pacific and drown the Calis or force the survivors to move into Nevada and Arizona. Those states don't want any more of them than they already have.

don't forget Ohio... as mentioned in a past thread, the po-po there need only to testify that in their opinion you were speeding ( name a specific speed ) and the judge says ... " guilty "

Yes, blame the cops.
Do you really think they give a berkeley weather or not the state gets paid?
Virginia is trying like hell to become the next Ohio. I really hate it that VIR is a direct drive right down through that damn state.

i don't know if they care or not- but if they know that they can just hand out tickets to anyone and everyone for any and no reason and know that it's gonna cost the person no matter what, then it would only serve to more severely inflate the already inflated egos of some of them.

Yeah, it's not like the cops that hand out more tickets get the newer cruisers and stuff to ride around it. Jeez, at least there aren't any traffic units in most departments!

beware of Charlotte County if you have to come that way, I think they use their little section of Rt. 360 as a piggybank. which is a stark contrast to Halifax county, who generally only issues warnings to anyone under 18 for speeding-related traffic stops if it's your first offense and you're not a total assface to the cop. (unless it was something really ignorantly bad, like trying to go so fast your speedometer needle breaks on a 1 lane each way road, or being drunk/high) that is dependent upon them realizing you're under 18, though...
