I have a number of 1st and 2nd RX-7 Parts I'm trying to sell on CL.
I get this email last night
CL User said: i am iterested in the gen 2 parts i will houl all of it away if you want to give it away you can get ahold of me at (616)xxx-xxxx my name is matt
really people? come on...
I get that ALL the time.
When the white Beetle was for sale I got twenty or thirty saying "Since you are selling the car you must not need it, I will take it for free since you don't need it, okay so I can pick it up at X:XX"
All from the same guy.
I was tempted to meet him just to punch him in the throat.
Not that I condone retribution or pranks, but a friend who was mad at his coworker posted a fake add for an incredible "divorce forces sell" deal on an RX-7 or something and put his coworker's cell number with a note that, "I work nights and sleep days so call absolutely any time. Later is better."
oh heres a good one!! I saw a E36 325 for sale with minor problems, so I call, chick answers the phone sounds hot. So i tell her everything ok, how many miles, what are the minor problems with it and could i come take a look? She tells me it runs and drives, real clean, and the problems were a "little electrical gremlin" and the wing was taken off.
So i go to look at it. Its ratty, ants all over it, doesnt run or drive, the wheels in the picture are removed and stocks are back on. I said "thought it ran great" she, by the way is a ugly heffer, says "ya until about a half hour ago" which i know is a lie because i had the hood popped
The next time I have a freebie up on Craigslist/Kijiji, I'm going to list it as "free to the first person who can meet my standards for grammar and spelling."
The sad part is, I'll bet I won't get any takers.

The problem is, he wouldn't do it if it didn't work at least once.
