We just got back from vacation, and it was very nice. The Thousand Islands are beautiful--who knew? Too bad the Edsel didn't make it, but the Ridgeline did very well.
Please feel free to comment on the happy, sparkly-clean topic of the Thousand Islands and vacationing in general.
This post brought to you by guilt over what I have undoubtedly wrought by posting about the vegetable-strangler in the office next door.

Seriously, this is sooo much more fun than pictures of woodland creatures with ginormous balls.
We got ice cream! What's your favorite flavor?
Margie
Uhoh.. You mentioned Ridgeline and with positive connotations. I predict this won't end well..
You know your vacation would of been better in a real truck right?

Just got back from vacation at this place:

Menominee Mi, right on the bay. Its been in my family since 1970, and it is being sold
My favorite memories are up there. Sad to see it go.

Ralph will miss it too.

Speaking of not real and ice cream, I've been, ummm, reducing lately, and I'm actually really impressed with Edy's Slow Churned reduced-fat ice creams. 1/2 the fat, 2/3 the calories, and they are actually very very good in flavor and texture.
I like the French Vanilla, Mint Chip, and French Silk Mocha.
My parents are up in that area on their boat. They are about a third of the way through the Great Loop. Beautiful area.

Probably won't be home until sometime in 2011.
I like sorbet myself. Lemon or lime is my usual choice but Ciao Bella makes a Blood Orange sorbet that is fantastic.
And since we know you really want to see pics of animals with giant balls...

We actually had some lemonade flavored ice cream over the past weekend. Very tasty...in a happy, sparkly-clean kinda way.
Restored my faith in my fellow man.
OMG you went on vacation in a not real truck?
My fav ice cream is a really good quality Vanilla. Hershey makes a Malt syrup that helps the not so good quality vanillas.
Welcome back, we didn't burn the place down but three of us got banned. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
I had a friend that used to put thousand islands dressing on everything.
You'd be surprised at just how good it is on plain boiled potatoes, and steak.
Not big on ice cream ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/unhappy-18.png)
Did you go to Bolt Castle?
Yep, went to the castle. Stuff like that really makes you appreciate income tax ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/googly-18.png)

There's a little ice cream shop in my neighborhood that's always experimenting with unusual flavors. The last time I was there I had some Jack Daniels and Rice Krispie ice cream...it sounds really weird, but it was actually not too bad.

Now here is something a little weird, but I prefer a coke and ice cream instead of root-beer for a float. I was eating/drinking my coke-float, and was also slightly inebriated. This is when I reached for my drink--a coke and whiskey, Jim Beam IIRC. So, being the genius that I am, I started thinking... Coke and whiskey is one of my favorite things. Ice cream and coke is one of my favorite things. Why not combine two of my favorite things to make a favoriter favorite thing?? Turns out that a Coke and Whiskey float is pretty awful. One of the worst things I have ever choked down.
but you did manage to get it down.....![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)

Spent July 24th through the 29th in Vegas, nice vacation.
Had dinner at "Prime" at the Bellagio before seeing "O" later that evening. Good trip, if not a bit expensive for a professional like me to catch a buzz.
Dry heat is E36 M3, 113 is still 113.
Also tied the knot with little lady at "The Little White Chapel" with the parents present.
Who would have thought that the Ridgeline would be more reliable than an Edsel?
I'm sure that by the time you reached Jacksonville, the kids were pretty happy that you took the Honda.

I've been there, it was great. Took my (then) 11 year old nephew, we loved Bolt Castle. Touring the islands is wonderful - there are some knock-your-socks-off nice island retreats.

Congrats!
Whoa, way to slip in that announcement! Yes, congrats, and best wishes for many happy years together.
Margie
Thank you and Thank you. I think I picked a pretty good one.

In reply to Marjorie Suddard:
I was born in Rochester, NY and my grandparents owned a house on Grenell Island, just west of Thousand Island Park. We moved to Georgia when I was nine but I have been back many times. I've camped at most of the parks all along Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence. Never went to Watkins Glenn but it is on my list.

Rich guy spends millions to dedicate his love to his wife and you lament that he didn't pay an income tax a decade before it was legislated and adopted?
