I knew that they were coming out this year but was beginning to think maybe that none had made it to Wisco.
But lo and behold while cruising the isle at a Wal-Mart in Green Bay I spot these puppies and grabbed all they had.
Merry Christmas to me!
According to the int3rwebzs, even though this is 2010 release, they made a late appearance.
As you see I have a few extra, so in my true GRM madness of populating the world with die-cast goodness, if you are one of the first 4 to call dibs and PM me a address and I'll ship it out to ya. For free.
I buy all the Datsun 510 Hot Wheels when I see them. I will have to check the matchboxes as I stop at wally world.
i snagged me a datsun 510 myself! Looks like it has a rollcage and everything!
Dibs on one!
Also, I can't seem to PM you?
That is totally awesome!! I too will have to check Wally world.

Excuse me, I have to go to Walmart now.
Heh, I figured you were gonna put up pics of the Volvo P1800 like I just picked up yesterday.
It's almost as good as the Hot Wheels '71 Maverick I picked up a few weeks ago.
Which is slightly better than the Donahue-livery AMX that I picked up a few weeks before that.
Speaking of Hot Wheels, I recently found a box of unopened cars circa 2000. My cousins' kids all got care packages. (Don't worry, I kept some.)
I love what Matchbox (and hotwheels) are doing right now with classic and vintage cars..
I need that Seven

I saw that one this evening & had to grab it. Almost got the Vega as well, but didn't really do it for me.
What's annoying is I'm getting more of these than my kids.

Ooo... a Seven... I'll definitely keep my eyes open for that one.

Modern Matchbox cars just don't do it for me. Just cheap copies of Hot Wheels. When you grew up collecting these, the newer stuff is crap:
And yes, I still have my collection.

So will I. The local CVS has all sorts of cool Hot Wheels cars right now like a Shelby GT500 (original) and the Mazda Furai.
Is it wrong that I keep an Excel Spreadsheet with all of my 18-month old son's cars listed by make, model, year, and color?
Also, I have found that the paint on the Matchbox cars is way more durable these days than on the Hot Wheels -- anyone else notice this, or is just something that a dad with a kid who throws things would pick up on?
By the way, I feel like a successful dad because my little guy's first real word was "car" and the first car I bought him (before he was born) was the black hot wheels 510.
In reply to ddavidv:
So do I but not in their boxes. Mine date to late 60's - early 70's. Still looking for an Opel GT for a reasonable price. Will have to stop by the local W-mart to see if they have sevens yet.
Yep, hotwheels recently has been releasing some gret cars...my most recent purchases include a 510, TR6, Delorean, R32 Skyline, R35 Skyline, Shelby Cobra, and the Ford GT500. Im waiting on them to bring out an AE86, and Mk II Supra, then my old skewl Japanese trifecta will be complete!

You found an AW11?
(conveniently ignoring the 510 mentioned)

I used to have an AE86 somewhere, but I have no idea where it ended up
The second Walmart I visited last night had three Caterhams. Now I do.
I also picked up a Morgan Aeromax, which I had just seen on Top Gear US, and a silver 427 SC Cobra.
I don't really collect Hot Wheels or Matchbox. I buy some that I like, open the boxes (horrors!), look them over, and put them places for my amusement. OK, I might push one around the table and clip a few apexes when no one's looking. Like you don't.
That is the last Hotwheels/Matchbox I have gotten. I have had to limit myself to just getting race cars, I have 34 cars in my office at the moment and my wife says that my boys have too many (which I always thought was impossible).
My lightbox isn't set up, and the camera lens is scratched. Those are only some of my excuses.
I like the "Superlight R500" badging ...
... but I love the tee-nine-tsy "7" on the nose.
