Oh jeez I had things to do today you know!
BTW the unofficial game of "where's waldo" has begun, first person to find a frozen corpse wins, bonus credit to anyone who spots a climber taking a dump.
Wild how clear it is that that mountain is sedimentary rock. That highest place there is was once the lowest place around. Neat.
So do you think Mt. Everest base camp has more of an 'Olympic Village' feel or 'Occupy Wall Street' vibe?
I'm having a hard time getting a feel for the magnitude.
I'm 99.99% sure I can't convince the wife, but I want to make it to base camp before I get too crotchety to make the hike. I won't try to kid myself into thinking I'm dedicated enough to try and make the summit, but I'd like to see the base camp.
In reply to Gasoline:
Reportedly, there is 120 tons of trash on the mountain not including the 190 bodies. If you die there, you stay there apparently. If you are lucky, they use you as a landmark.
Meet landmark "Green Boots."
Pretty interesting article.
