I have a craptacular computer that is hooked up to the new wall mounted 32" on our bedroom. It is too old and does not have the abilities needed to stream netflix or do much else other than standard surfing. I am going to clean the drive and sell it for a token sum. I want to replace it with one of these:

It already has everything loaded so it would be basically plug and play... yet I have an issue. I have tried a wireless keyboard and mouse and even with fresh batteries I have an issue getting a signal across the room.

What is an inexpensive option for this situation?

thats okay if you want a new computer.

you could also buy a 32" tv that -has- netflix and youtube software in it, and put the one you just got in another room. ;p

What all do you want to do? My roommate picked up a blu-ray player and surround sound setup for I think $50 more then that which can get netflix, youtube and etc. And you can get the blu-ray player by itself for cheaper then the computer you are looking at.

There isn't one. We have an HTPC in the living room and we finally had to break down and buy a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo.

Unfortunately they approach $200.

30 ft range. Might work for the 16 I need to cover.

Better yet, backlit and not a jock strap:

Also about $40.00

Depending on what you want to do Google TV may be ticket. $299 at Best Buy and it will allow you to browse the web and stream Netflix ( and Hulu soon) while laying nekkid with Mrs Mofo.

I should also add if it's just streaming you want a Roku box for $80 is awesome. I currently use this for my streaming and it works great, though it has no web surfing capability.

+1 for Roku. works great for netflix and amazon vod. Setup is fire and forget. If you already have an ipod/itunes setup, you may also want to consider Apple TV.
