I think the fiancee paid $13k or so for her 2007 Element a few years ago. Every time she goes to the dealer for something they swarm her thinking she's trading it in. They sent her a letter recently asking her to sell it back to them. I told her sure, tell them you want $15k trade-in at least.
I don't think the 2nd gen xB will be as popular/valuable. Design change was love it or hate it, slightly more power for slightly less MPG, but not enough power to really be worth it. And the 1rst gen is based on the bB in Japan, still popular there I believe.
