The beginning of October I started feeling sick and when my temp hit 103 went to the emergency room. They did some blood work and a CT scan and determined that I had a blockage in the common hepatic duct just above the gallbladder. I was transferred by ambulance to Hershey Med Center. The next day I had an endoscopic procedure and a biopsy was done with placement of a stent to correct the blockage. The biopsy came back positive for atypical cells that appeared to be carcinoma. I did a bunch of research and it indicated that typically that meant advanced stage cancer. Various sites showed about 2,000 cases a year in the US with a blockage in that area, 85% inoperable, the balance operable and no statistic for it not being cancer.Fast forward 2 months and many tests later including putting a port in my chest to drain the liver and allow dye and scope studies. I saw the surgeon last Friday and he jsut shook his head. I am clean, no sign of any malignancy and no explanation for the blockage. I will have the port removed next week and will be good to go with no surgery or treatment needed other than a stent. Truly a Christmas miracle!!
Good news. I've been hearing about blockages a lot lately. Glad things are going in the right direction for you.
Dude, you just need to chug some Seafoam and then jog around the block a few times. You'll fart some weird clouds, but I hear it's great for blockages and will make you perform like you're 18 again.
// great news that it worked out well. I've had some health issues and understand what the not knowing can be like.

Awesome news. Congrats!!!
Excellent news! I'd recommend backing off the Seafoam and instead scarf down about a pint of ATF. Hey, it works for sludged motors...

Hi Don49,
I’m very happy for you.
Now, did your physician keep a straight face when he said the Hershey Boys were going to give you an endoscopy?
Awesome, that's great to hear.
