Unfortunately, when she tried to jack the car up to rotate the tires, she didn't weigh enough to work the floor jack . She'd hang on the handle, and it would sloooowly lower to the floor. Then she'd do it all over again. She did a good job with the impact wrench and the oil change, though. Didn't even drive the car off the ends of the ramps.
That's some kind of heavy car!
My daughter has the same problems. Good on you for teaching her how to take care of a car.

We had gotten one of the early one pump Brunnhoelzl jacks and at 190 lbs I still needed a 5 foot handle and had to about jump on it to get the car up.
Hell, I've had to do that with my van & the truck before it.

When you're short, the trick is to not raise the handle all the way up. Lots of short strokes. Wait, what are we talking about again? 
Kudos to your daughter for taking an interest in the care of her vehicle, and kudos to you for taking the time to show her.

On a less dirty note: EastCoast is right-that jack has a more favorable "lift to pump ratio" if you focus on the bottom few inches.

That's some crummy jack. My 47 lb 7 year old can operate my old cast iron brute just fine.

Off to college, now. In a few hours we'll officially be Empty Nesters.
The bigger HF floor jack (iron, 2.5 ton) does a better job. Couple of weeks ago my lightweight 10 year old daughter lifted the entire front end of the suburban by herself. It was pretty cute.
