I had to go to a viewing for friends grandmother and whilst I was gone my dogs hacked the xmas stash and devoured a whole 6oz box.
Here I sit, watching them, waiting for symptoms. Don't know which one did it or if they shared. Too late to puke it up. Don't want E36 M3 everywhere. So I wait. Watching Westworld. It's awesome.
Life is full of little E36 M3 storms.
Eat their Milk Bones out of spite.
Some light reading.
Not a lot of fun. Not really much to do but ride it out. Good luck, turn off the Roomba.
"Turn off the Roomba" !! You now owe me a keyboard.
Well I wish I saw this sooner, because a syringe full of hydrogen peroxide goes a long way.
I've heard stories of dogs eating lots of chocolate and nothing happening. Hopefully this is no different.

Well... one dog is fine.
The other is shaking like a leaf, can't sit still, drinking gallons of water and acting very clingy but all the puke and E36 M3 is staying on the inside after 14hrs.
I think he will be fine but I expect a lot of E36 M3ting to take place soon.

My wife's childhood dog, a ~30 pound border collie, once got into the cabinet and ate an entire box of Hostess Ding Dongs. Left little bits of foil all over the floor, but she managed to hang on for almost 15 years afterwards.
My labs were pretty much garbage disposals. Chocolate, shaving cream, center of an oval braided rug, skirt from the bottom of a love seat, plugged in electrical wires.. Hell that was only one dog and she lived for 15 years.
A buddy's dog ate my bag of party balloons. Three days later, it was the most colorful, festive turd I'd ever seen.
We had a pug growing up that ate an entire Little league baseball fundraiser box full of Candy bars. 50 full sized candy bars. He took a few bites out of every one, and proceeded to E36 M3 his brains out for 2 straight days following.
Not sure which part pissed my dad off more- cleaning up dog crap for 2 straight days, or having to fork out $50 to cover the cost of the fundraiser without enjoying any of it, haha.
Also, he lived to the almost-unbelievable age of 20. To date, he's the oldest pug I've ever heard of existing. He was also the funniest old-man dog too. Totally lucid, half deaf and mostly blind, but he always knew where the food bowl and my bed was.
Our dog ate a 6 pack of hershey bars, and he always steals chocolate from the baby. He's healthy as can be
In reply to Appleseed:
Had a dog eat a whole bunch of crayons, similar effect.
My aunt's ex-husband's Scottie has been snaffling chocolate quite a few times, without any apparent ill effects. Well, other than the one time he got into the "trucker" chocolate that is laced with generous amounts of caffeine...
Here's hoping both dogs finish the episode in good health!

Because berkeley you, dogs.
My dog ate a can of dog food once. No, a CAN of dog food, as in unopened by me. He eats dry food and when someone gave me a can of wet, I just left it on a table. He somehow smelled what was inside, chewed the can to a pulp and ate the contents. No cuts to his mouth at all. Pitbulls, gotta love 'em.
We went to see my parents on Christmas morning and we came home to find that our dog ate thru a Christmas stocking my wife put together for him, like a fist sized hole at the bottom of the stocking. We also found the few plastic remains of a Costco size bag of chicken jerky, and the desiccant pack...
It might not be chocolate, but the after effects are similar. He has drank gallons of water, and has been having a great time on both ends....He looks to be doing better now, but it worked him over pretty good!
On a positive note, the new carpet cleaner we just got works great!!

The blue nose I had for a while(got dropped off at my house for over a year) really liked those absorb pack things that you get with steaks and meat. Whatever the pad is between the meat and Styrofoam.
Not that they'd be laying around, he'd tear the garbage up to get to it.
The wolf chewed up a box of bullets one time too. Left all the bullets, thankfully, but chewed the Hell out of the box.
Anyone else's dog like used kleenex? I've had 3 labs and they all love dirty snot rags.
The darker the chocolate the worse it is for them, Milk Chocolate will usually give them the runs but not much more than that.
Our dog drank the better part of a cappuccino one time. Mmm... steamed milk. Poor little thing sat staring at us fussing, whining, and fidgeting. Had to go to the bathroom a lot. We kept looking at the little thing going "what are you so fussy about."
D'uh. Coffee jitters.

It's my understanding that it's the caffeine that is bad for dogs, not the chocolate. A lot of chocolate has caffeine in it, naturally I guess, but it's not a given.
My stepdad's mom fed her dog chocolate all the time, dog suffered no problems. Dog also liked to walk around with a cigarette hanging from her mouth so she could look like a people (she smoked like a chimney, and there are funny stories about that) and the dog loved to have salad in her doggie bowl, but only if you put dressing on it. No idea if she preferred Ranch or Italian dressing.

One of our small dogs got into a bag of dark chocolate a few years ago. She couldnt sit still or sleep for 2 days. She was just running wide open!
After that she was fine.

Yup, the dose makes the poison, it's all in the weight of the dog and the cocoa content of the chocolate, the "(tiny amount) of chocolate will kill your dog" you hear usually assumes some sort of 10lb toy and unsweetened baking chocolate. It's not good for them, but a Hershey's bar won't kill your lab.

That's both funny and horifying. Who would give a dog a lung dart and light the bastard? But, regardless, I need pics.
