Dogs are interesting critters. I've seen the ones that don't do much for security, but never had one. Sadie, who I had to put down last year, was 70# of major attitude when necessary. Had a State Trooper come to our house late one night to take a report about an accident we witnessed. Stripes all the way down his sleeve, head man at the post. It took all my strength to keep her from charging him. His comment? "I like your dog!" in a deep southern accent. Current dog is an 18# daschund, Jazzy. I tell people that he is a dwarf Rottweiler. Looks and acts the part. Good dogs are good to have around.
Wish those cops were up here...
The local cops, in the town I live in HAVE SATURDAY'S OFF!!!! A call to them gets you a state trooper, and the wait can be long for anything short of a murder taking place in front of you.
Wendy sounds VERy nice, but, me thinks she should be a little more cautious.
Agreed T5, but cops were johnny on the spot because of history in the area she was not aware of.
Hindsight ....
Most cops will tell you that they are reactive, they get there AFTER the incident. It is up to you to take care of your self. I live in the country 1/4 mile from the road and I too would do what Wendy did, Granted I'm not a 5' 90# female type. My wife however, I would worry about the perp if SHE caught him. NEVER piss off an Italian/ Blackfoot indian woman.
