...and I wound up in a new comic book store. Traded away my Initial D collection for new Gunsmith Cats and some alt covers of Victory. Still on the hunt for 3 issues of Danger Girl to complete that series. It's winter, no car projects under way, and GRM doesn't print often enough.

what can you say bad about a series that has Corvette Stingrays, Mustang GT500s and a Fiat 500 in it regularly?

Nope. Pani-Poni-something or another. The series wasn't my thing, but the cover art was funny. Main character dressed as 80's icons. Avatar is Terminator, also have a great one as Slash from Guns-N-Roses...
Gunsmith Cats rock. They layed out Chicago with accuracy in the anime. And the Cobra rules.
When you find yourself fabricating a light saber out of parts from the dollar store so you can enter an online contest, you know your inner geek might have gotten loose.
One of my friends turned me into an action figure. I star as his Oracle in his stop-motion animations (that he doesn't post to the internet).

I wouldn't doubt it. Kenichi Sonoda is a car nut.

Yes, there is an X 1/9. It gets crashed. The Riding Bean animation isn't nearly as crisp and detailed as GSC, but it's older and had a different production house.
The "Bean Bandit" story arc of the manga featured a 3 way race with a 427 Cobra, Viper GTS, and a Boss 302 with unknown (but massive) modifications. Riff Raff is cool...
Older.. it is about 20 years old.. it is allowed to look a little fuzzy
Does remembering and idolizing the real "Speed Racer" make me an old geek
You have good company if you are

I let my inner geek out once. I had a court date, spent some time on probation, and am no longer allowed to that mall.

That's not your inner geek, that's your lower geek.

Why am I thinking of the old Robin Williams HBO special where he was talking about letting his sub-concious out? I'm now giggling and I have to go to Youtube to find the clip....

More ontopic, I was lucky enough to be privy to the Gunsmith cats series on VHS...... it was AWESOME. Also a huge fan of Initial D (say what you will, that show is awesome too) to the point I had my series imported from Japan so I wouldn't have to deal with the stupid Tokyopop garbage (on DVD no less) and I have the live action movie DL'd to my Blackberry.
I still have all of my Punishers. Not sure if that's still what the cool kids read.
You guys inspired me to change my avatar

New Gunsmith Cats? Do ya mean "new to you", or honto ni NEW?!?!
I'm not a big manga fan, I like animation. The only manga I have in the house is the last Rurouni Kenshin story arc, and that was just because the folks animating the story screwed up so badly after the Shishio arc. Hey, 2/3rds of a masterpiece is better than none at all, right?
I've got the Gunsmith Cats OVA. Love the characters. I might reconsider my stance on manga if there's better stories in the books...

ROFL! I just got Forza 3 a week ago..and only found the touge ("Fujimi Kaido"?) races a couple of nights ago. I'd always hated point-to-point nonsense in "arcade" racing games, but Turn 10 actually took the trouble to make the road surface more realistic. And of course, the FM physical model is better than any other console game at the moment..
I haven't been through the place in anything faster than a Class E car, but my first thought after playing it was, "..hmmm. Wasn't there a yellow FD in the Mazda dealership?.."
