My laugh of the day.

This brightened my afternoon, maybe it will brighten yours as well.

I was sitting at my desk, minding my own business, trying to figure out how to either A- afford a Miata with an FM kit on it, or B- afford a 1960 Mini that used to be an ice racer.

Co worker comes up to me, looking extra frightened (maybe it's the beard, i don't know) and says "Is that your white Taurus out there? The one with the Throwbacks (Mt. Dew) on the front seat?" I'm thinking to myself 'does she want one, or what'.... she says " I hit your car". She drives a durango, i'm immediately thinking I need a ride home because she monster trucked the thing or something. She further explains "I'm really sorry, i didn't see anything, it was probably a door ding, i had to park really close to it blah blah blah"

At this point, I burst out laughing. Like seriously belly laughing. She has this absolutely horrified look on her face like I'm about to make a hat out of her skull or something. I simply state between laughs" I paid 100$ for that car. Do I look like I care?" The look after that...... was priceless.

At least she was honest and did the right thing. Coulda had her buy you another pack of throwbacks or meet you in the supply closet or something.

one of my cars is like that (the Impreza) as long as the damage doesn't change how it runs of affects the doors or lights .... who cares...

when I first got the car the state valued it at (for property tax purposes ... for those of you in states that don't steal your money this way) $4000 ... a 20 year old Impreza ...

I contested the valuation and it ended up being valued at $1000....

Not what i'd consider hot. Typical office lady. Married, couple of kids..... nice enough lady though, and I did thank her for the honesty.

What I learned today:

You have a lady that works with you who drives a Durango (not very well) and has a beard that makes her look frightened....

When I had my windshield replaced, they knicked some paint off of the roof panel, barely through the clearcoat, not down to the metal. They were really apologetic, but I was like "The windshield you just put in is like 1/4 of the value of the car right now. I can't get mad about something like this." They still knocked $50 off.

I guess people don't get the concept of "beaters" and "nice cars."

I wish I cared less about my 100 buck car when it was hit in the parking garage. I also wish they would fess up. This is one of the rare ones I do care about, since it's my first BMW.

Now, my fords....lol. Yeah, cut me off, try and shove your way in? Think I care? Oh noes, you blocked my car in a parallel parking spot, and you parked illegally? Let me introduce your car to my trailer hitch.

BMW- I totally get that. Ford? Yeah. Ford Taurus. I don't care. At the moment, I can't be bothered to replace a brake light. Seriously.
