I didn't know until today that there is a whole artistic subculture of folks who make a hobby of modifying My Little Pony dolls. They fabricate costumes, alter body shapes, and otherwise hack these miniature dolls in a way that I can only describe as, "GRM".

that thread is TOTALLY why I was inspired to make this thread. I found these ponies and then read that barbie doll thread and thought, "these GRM folks might be interested in the clusterberkeley I just found today."

they did a whole segment on this on Red Eye a few months back.. apparently they had a convention in NYC..

My friends use to tease me because I painted "D&D"( it was actually WarHammer fantasy) and made mini doll houses for them. Until one day I showed them exactly what I had made. Its a 2' x 4' scene with LED lit blue river section poured in layers with hand made tiny fish swiming and various other river stuff like felled trees and lilly pads, an LED lid scale still with flicker effect for the fire, scale stick build home with LED lighting, working cranked and counter waited draw bridge. working cranked well with scale bucket made like a real bucked.
As weird as this is it takes some skill to mod my little ponies.

My mom used to work in a nursing home as a teenager, the very first day she went into work she met one of the old folks she'd be taking care of, an apparently very proper British lady. She says "hello dear, I have a gift for you," opens a drawer, and displays a very finely crafted apple made of human feces. It had all the detail in the stem and leaf and everything x_x
