OK, so its been quiet on the car front for a while, just brake lines in the truck and everything else is just running so no news is good news. I did recently refurbish some wooden patio furniture I bought many years ago for $1.

Anyway, 2 chairs and a small table. Once chair was not keeping it together, and the lower horizontal supports between the front and back legs and the arms were rotting so the chair could hold no weight.

I made some new arms. photo photo3_zpsf8f6b838.jpg

Then I replaced the horizontal lower supports with turnbuckles. The hardware is too big, so I did not achieve the look I was going for, whatever that was. They also do not provide outward pressure, only inward, so they act when tightened in conjunction with the mounting points on the new arms to make the entire structure rigid and under some tension. photo photo1_zps9951711a.jpg

I stained the set in a new Minwax color called "Classic Grey", which turned out pretty nice, then poly'd. This is before the poly was all dry. photo photo2_zps88a109b6.jpg

This is before I finished staining the frankenchair, but it shows the idea. I put in some joint supports as well. photo photo_zpsfc608546.jpg

Looks a mess, but what the hell. The other chair and table turned out OK I guess.

I like it. It is definetly creative!

I actually prefer the franky chair to the "normal" one. Good job.
