Who knew? (OK, everyone)
Just got it last Thursday, after a day of dancing with DMV (they are not open, but have a drop box) I got to play with it Friday and headed out Saturday morning 3 hours away to visit. I made a flower pot for our daughter in law, it's descending sized pots stack up and held together with 1/2" threaded rod. I wrestled that thing into the back seat by flipping the front seats forward, hoisting it over the top and giving it a seat belt. Sunday morning getting ready to leave, I started the same routine with bags of crap to bring home (you got kids you understand). My son leans in, yanks a lever I never saw and viola' 4 door! I'm an idiot.
On another note, the Frontier is a V-6 with a 6 speed stick; at 73 mph the engine churns over at ~2100 rpm giving 20 miles per gallon.
Hey, don't feel bad. One winter I bought a Volvo 240 DL 5 speed manual wagon to use as a DD. Found it to be a great winter car for New England with a set of snow tires. Spring came around and by early summer I couldn't stand driving it because without AC all that glass turned it into a greenhouse, or so I thought, till realizing it had seat heaters that had been on since I bought the car.
Years back my father bought a Ford F-150 4x4. That winter, he was out in the first snow fall with the truck, he came home and told me how well it went in the snow. Cool I thought, he needs a good 4x4 for winters here in PA. I went out to move the truck in the driveway a few days later and couldn't get it to move. The 4x4 light on the dash was lit up, so I tried again. Nothing. I went out and looked at the MANUAL front hubs and he never turned them!!!!! His new 4x4 worked incredibly well in deep snow in 2 wheel drive!!!!
I thought my cruise control wouldn't work in one of my cars, so I never hit the button. Six months, and thousands of road trip miles later, I finally tried it.
Didn't the six speed golf ball miata get driven across a couple of states in fifth gear?
A friend used to hillclimb a VERY fast modified formula car. It always seemed like a real dog off the start line until it got going 30mph or so. It wasn't until someone else drive the car that it launched like never before.
Moral of the story was a "dog-leg Hewland"!!!! My friend was trying to launch in 2nd gear rather than "down and over" into first.
I used to have an 04 Infiniti I-35 that had a single button on console that the wife and I couldn't figure out what it did. Googling showed any buttons there were for seat warmers, but it didn't work..
months later we're on road trip and I kept messing with it, one of kids yelled out, omg that's so cool, I didn't know there was a curtain back here.
Turns out there's a shade that covers rear window to block the sun!
Side note, how do you like the frontier? I think a 4 door version might be in my future.
Have you used the under-bed safe yet? People often leave money and guns in them.
