My Tissot–my daily for like 15 years–stopped Tissotting this weekend.
At first I was like, Duh, you didn’t set it for the time change.
Then I realized that its time was not changing.
Do we have a watchmaker in the house?

That's beautiful...I wouldn't kick that off my wrist even if I was at risk of contracting rust
I drug my 48 year old Seiko 6139 out of the drawer last week and de-uglified it with a new bracelet. Haven't worn it for several years. It runs perfectly.
Your choices are to have a watch maker service it, have an amateur service it, or have a go at it yourself. I have enough tools to open and do very basic services to most watches. It's a fun hobby.

Yup, self-winding. I really do like this watch: not too big, not too small. Plus the dial is dark blue, so a little different than the usual navy. And there’s a motorsports connection.

I think I’ll find a pro. Not sure I want to learn watch repair on this one.
I do have a dead Seiko5, though....
I have several watches, though, and wore my Swatch for a few days.
Love the look but it is so loud! Were Swatches this loud back in the ’80s? So much ticking.
Thinking about putting this Swiss Army watch back into service.
I can’t remember when I bought it. Twenty years ago? More?
The pros: I like the look, easy to read.
The cons: I don’t like the leather strap, but it’s kinda messed up so currently looking at NATO straps.
Also, wow, does the photo make the bezel look rough. Really it doesn’t look that bad.

I remember being in a class in the fall of 1985 and the teacher said something like "it's about as loud as a ticking watch".
A few kids had watches on and one girl said "I have a Swatch. Swatches tick really loud".
Swatches had only been in the US for about a year at that point.
After that, I noticed that I could hear my girlfriend's Swatch from across the room at times when we were trying to "be really quiet" in her parents' house.
So yeah...confirmed: Swatches were really loud back in the 80s.

Also... measure the lug width on that Swiss Army.
I have one that's 21mm, which makes it really hard to find a well fitting replacement strap for them.
I have a new in box 1985 Swatch. I'll throw a battery in it tomorrow and compare it to a new quartz Swatch that I bought last month.

How is it holding up? When I pulled my college Swatch from the drawer, the band just crumbled.
My high school swatch is long gone, but I’d love to buy a replacement. I haven’t just because I’m worried how it will age.
