Baby born in NASCAR track's parking lot gets free tickets for life

Published September 16, 2012

LOUDON, N.H. – A New Hampshire woman and her baby are doing fine after the woman gave birth in the New Hampshire Motor Speedway parking lot.

Shawna Arnold began going into labor Friday and she and her boyfriend began driving to a hospital. But when she realized she was about to give birth on the way, they made a pit stop at the racetrack parking lot in Loudon.

Arnold tells WMUR-TV that she and her boyfriend delivered the baby, named Katie, in their car. An EMT at the track then came to help, and the couple and the baby were taken to a hospital.

Speedway General Manager Jerry Gappens has awarded the baby two tickets to NASCAR races for the rest of her life.

I need to get the girlfriend preggers and get her to deliver the baby in a new Porsche.

So this proves it, purgatory is real

Poor kid doesn't stand a chance.

1) his mom & dad were voluntarily at a Nascar track at the time of his birth.

2) poor kid will be subjected to Nascar his whole life.

He's got genes & environment both going against him.

And apparently His parents named Him Katie as it says in the article. So he really doesn't stand a chance

SHE has a fighting chance.

1 - There was nothing happening at the track when she was born. It was a convenient place to stop when the event was imminent.

2 - The parents just might sell the tickets (one race at a time) and start a college fund

3 - Mom and Dad reportedly kept their composure so Katie may not be predetermined towards hysteria.

Well, one can hope anyway.

Inspite of what you may have seen on tv aside from Boston and a few other urban areas up north looks alot like the deep south, just replace the Camaros and Mustangs on blocks with old Saabs and Subarus.

Edit: As a condition of the free tickets they should have had to give her a racing related name like Victoria Lane.

True, but I was in Maine a couple times. I don't remember seeing any rednecks there. And not too many in Connecticut either. I just figured all of New England was relatively "redneck free." I've been wrong before.
