All of our local garbage trucks now appear to be powered by natural gas. Considering that these are heavy trucks, constant stop and go, hard working , what kind of engines are used in these? Diesel blocks modified for gas? Fresh design? Makers? Thanks, enquiring minds want to know.

They are fairly different than a diesel being spark ignition.

There were F150 dual fuel trucks out there for a while.

Just heavy duty gasoline engines with a conversion. Similar to propane.
