It's possible to bolt up a common GM alternator although some minor wiring harness mods may be required:

Bracket needs to be fabricated. That kills it.

Instructions say it's only needed to get perfect belt alignment but it will still work with stock mounts.

Gotta drive 6 hours in the rain, belt alignment matters :). Appreciate it though. We have one here, and it's pretty far off.
