I need a decent watch - my last watch was a Wenger Alpine Rallye - I just have to find a decent jeweler to repair it for a mechanism issue. Meanwhile I hve $90 burning a hole and ask you what can I get? Leather band only.
Here was my Alpine.

been a big fan of citizen, something like this http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-BM8240-03E-Eco-Drive-Stainless-Leather/dp/B000EQS1D8/ref=sr_1_25?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1389406723&sr=1-25&keywords=citizen (yeah, i know it's $20 more)
this is still a thing you can buy, and at Wal Mart, no less... yeah, i know, it's not a leather band- but come on- you know you want it...

Another website with some nice stuff.

In the days before cell phones, I went through 4 different Databank watches. Great for storing phone numbers and dates.

Unless you wear a G-Shock
How about some kind of Seiko 5? It's probably the least expensive way to get an automatic.
Tons of styles, too: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_6?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=seiko+5&sprefix=seiko+%2Caps%2C228&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aseiko+5
