New Age Cannonball Run?

So, I was listening to "the Nerdist" podcast today (yeah, I'm that much of a geek...), and in the episode with John Hamm, they reference the fact that they would all like to see a remake of Cannonball Run with current actors and comedians.

They recommended that Jackie Chan's part be played by Jackie Chan, because he's Asian, not Agin'

They also stated that the leggy, lycra'd Lambo drivers should be played by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler...

So far, I think they are spot on. Who else should be in this imaginary film? Who should be Burt Reynold's character? Dom Deluise?

I'd like to see Dave chappel (or however you spell that) play Sammy Davis jr.'s part.

James Woods would do the priest pretty well.

The Roger Moore part HAS to be Pierce Brosnan.

As one who is pained by the constant remakes by the unimaginative Hollywood I wouldn't mind a new Cannnonball run if it managed to have the same chemistry between the actors.

But since C and D and Brock Yates parted ways.. Who knows?

You need to have the Yates involved if you are going to have anything. Jr. is still running the "One Lap" isn't he?

(Although if Hollywood remade it, Victor and J.J. would be Kevin James and Adam Sandler...ugh)

Vince Vaughn can pull off a similar smarmy as Burt, but I like the Knoxville idea better.

Clooney could pull off JJ McClure (Burt Reynolds) character, so could Robert Downey Jr. but he'd be playing his Iron Man character again. Johnny Depp would be perfect.

Dustin Hoffman as The Sheik (Jamie Farr).
Rowan Atkinson for Dr. VanHelsing (Jack Elam).
If Pierce Brosnan wouldn't take the Seymour Goldfarb (Roger Moore) role, The Rock could spoof his action movie persona to good effect.
Alec Baldwin or Jamie Foxx as Jamie Blake (Dean Martin) and Katt Williams or Dave Chappelle as Morris Fenderbaum (Sammy Davis Jr.).
Jay Leno for Bradford Compton (Bert Convy).
Rosario Dawson has the looks and comic chops for Pamela Glover (Farrah Fawcett).
Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy for Terry (Terry Bradshaw) and Mel (Mel Tillis).
Beth Grant as Arthur J. Foyt (George Furth) - maybe rename the character "Bernardine Ecclestone"?

Ferrari 308 GTS - Ferrari 458

I agree with Nicksta on Chappelle playing Morris, and agree with Racerfink about Brosnan playing Seymore Goldfarb Jr. (Moore).

Of course, this will all be for E36 M3 if they don't dust off Brock Yates' original script and use that instead of all the stupid Reynolds/Needham "..hell, let's just go wreck some cars!" crap.

I think Adam Sandler and Kevin James would be better. Vince Vaughn can only play one character, a sarcastic a-hole.
