Not Canoe.
I decided to spring for a garage at my new rental spot in Flagstaff. Everything is expensive, might as well get a garage for an extra $100. Luckily its a nice sized garage.
Anyway, property management has provided us with a single door opener. We're not using the garage to park our car, we're using it as a shop/bicycle storage. Having two openers would be nice.
Can I get a universal remote and somehow pair it with the door opener without having the opener's documentation?

I'd go to a dealer of whatever product it is.
70% odds there is a sticker on it somewhere that says "Overhead Door". Go to them (or whoever's sticker is on it). They can sell you an appropriate closer, and tell you the secret code.

Google the make and model, there's a good chance the owner's manual is available online.
Many cars have a feature to 'learn' the signal by holding down the button on the opener that works while the device in the car is listening. I would be shocked to find out there aren't universal openers that do this too.

even if not, universal ones are universal, and you should be at least be able to tel the brand, so follow the instructions for that brand.
I got this 2 channel one, and i love it so far.

I looked up the model of my garage door and found a brand name opener on amazon. I bought it for $12.
