No, really, she choose us. Animal control picked her up and no one claimed her. We happened to be at the shelter when they brought her over to the "adoption side" of the building. She was shaking and looked pathetic, so we took her for a walk out back. Very clingy but very well behaved so we put a hold on her--had to wait for a rabies vaccine and check from the shelter vet.
She saw our regular vet the morning after she came home. Other than hair loss on her back due to fleas, she's fine. She came home from the pound with special shampoo and stuff. The doctor said that it will clear up now that we have stopped the fleas. He thinks she might have been dealing with the fleas for a year or so.
House-trained, very good on a leash, no interest in toys, fine in the car, doesn't beg, still clingy, loves to sleep. Not thrilled about being left alone at night in her kennel, though. No idea on age. The kennel guessed 8 years old. Our vet says closer to 3. She knows, the vet said, but she won't tell us.

Wow, she looks nice. I like seeing happy home stories.
Has she told you her name yet?
Looks like a German Shepherd mix. A great dog!
Thank you, thank you. She looks a little Rottweiler but only weighs 35 pounds.
She hasn't told us her name yet, but in a few we're heading out to get a dog tag and some more food. She likes what we bought, so we'll get more.
And she's still sleeping here in my office.

Congrats on being adopted. These threads aren't helping me resist being adopted. Louie passed 5 years ago but still not sure if I'm ready.

She looks like a good dog.
They know when they've got a forever home, you're going to have a very loyal friend.

Yeah, I hear you. We lost both of our other pups two weeks apart. The vet said to give it time. It's been half a year, and we started "just looking" a couple of weeks ago.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
I think I'm kind of afraid that just looking will turn real quick like that also.
This is my little Princess. She died on March 6th of this year, right when all the Coronavirus stuff started. I miss her. I haven't found a replacement yet.

We have 2 in the office most days, since I bring mine, I don't care if they bring theirs. Sometimes the size difference can be comical. Congrats on finding yours

If it's time, it's time. You won't go looking unless you're ready, even if you don't think you are.
She looks like a sweetie.
I’m convinced that adopt-a-pups are the best pups.

I totally hear ya but so far, no complaints. She is very clingy, though, and is back at my feet right now just.
My rescue pup the vet said would weigh about 40 lbs is 80lbs of fun but she isn't clingy at all and it drives my wife nuts. She will let you pet her for about 5 minutes then she just wants you too throw her toy.
Great looking pup David!
And dropstep, that is why you exist isn't it?

Four-week update.
Yup, she's totally house-trained--like, will come up to you and tell you that she needs to go out. Also, doesn't always pee when outside first thing in the morning.
Still good on a leash.
Enjoys sleeping but is coming out of her shell. Just starting to play with toys.
Clingy and obedient. Knows basic commands or at least fakes it well.
Not nearly as stinky.
Just yesterday learned that she can easily jump onto our bed.
Still isn't thrilled about being left alone, especially at bedtime. She'll cry for a while before settling down.
Thank you for all of the kind words.
Looks like you found a good one. Or she found you.
If GRM was a dog: used, few dings and dents, A/C doesn't work, loyal, loveable, with a fresh oil change.
Yeah, I can see that.
