Trading my '13 trek mamba in for a '15 trek x-caliber 8 in black/blue. 15.5" so i can go 650b. First upgrade to any mtb for me is a wtb saddle. Of course it will be getting my candy 3 pedals and some ergo grips, as well as my go pro mount. Super pumped for it to get here... Should be coming in around May 10th. Definitely looking forward to the 2x10 setup from sram. Should be perfect for the types of trails I prefer
I've been running nothing but 1x9/1x10 for years now. I used to do a lot of singlespeeding and realized simplicity is great... to a certain extent. 1x10 is truly the perfect blend in my opinion. Curious how you'll like the 650b. I swore I'd never get into big wheels and now... that's all I own. I have an I guess you could call it vintage now Dos Niner (sram 1x9), A Bianchi Rita SS, and my ultimate pride and joy- my Intense Spider 29 (1x10 shimano).
And my ass is a Fizik guy, all day every day. Pave CX on every bike I own, road bike included.

Why does it being 15.5" allow you to go 650b? I assume they base wheel size on frame size. You must be a short dude. 1x10 is the beesknees.
This is one of those "Smart Size" bikes where the larger sizes are 29ers, right?
Personally I like WTB seats, although a long time ago I had a Titec that I liked too.

Personally I think that unless your skills are pretty advanced and you really enjoy dirt jump, drops, and technical trails, a 29er can fit most dudes, even ladies will benefit.
Especially now that there is something bigger than 29".
If I could afford a stache I would, but people don't buy that many tires lol. My 17.5" mamba always felt a hair big so I think from a confidence perspective the 15.5" will be good. And again... Super pumped for the 2x10. And the shimano brakes. The Hayes setup on the mamba always felt a bit mushy. I did like the white calipers though lol.
