New Star Wars: The Force Awakened teaser!

I've seen photos of Mark Hamill with a beard similar to Kenobi for the movie, which makes perfect sense. And is awesome. For those that don't know, they brought back a good handful of original actors, Carrie Fischer as well and I'm trying to remember if Peter Mayhew is back as Chewbaca. (Yup, IMDB says he's back as well.)

I'd figured it was at least partially CGI. It's impressive that this droid was a "real" special effect.

I am so pumped for this movie!!!! That crashed Star Destroyer gave me the tinglies.

Looking forward to this much more than Fury Road.

I vividly remember riding in the car with my Dad after seeing the movie was pretending we were in an X wing and shooting at TIE fighter all the way home.

I'm incredibly fascinated with Kylo Ren. What's interesting is that we know his hilted saber is kinda cobbled together, so he must have not had access to a "master built" light saber, nor a mentor to show him how to build one.

So if we assume he's built a lightsaber on his own, and he may be the only Sith in this new Empire, does he lead this new faction?

The "Force Awakens" title suggests this may be exactly what's happened. That the Sith were defeated the last time around, and now somebody's gone back and woken the Dark Side up again.

Now that I think about it, I suspect the new Sith guy might not be the leader of the faction with the storm troopers. Instead, it could be that the Rebels either didn't wind up in control of the entire galaxy after Return of the Jedi and instead there's been a long standing rivalry between two governments for control of the galaxy, or that one of the surviving members of the Imperial leadership has built himself a faction and ignited a civil war. It's been 30 years, so even if the Rebels had done a systematic purge (they may have just confined themselves to prosecuting war crimes and let the rest of the Imperial leadership stay in the military or run for office), some of those survivors are probably out of prison by now. Kylo Ren at this point may simply be looking for whatever way he can exploit the situation for his own personal gain, instead of being the leader of the neo-Imperial faction.

I'm looking forward to this but IMO JJ Abrams is a terrible director, I haven't really liked anything he's done on film. He's like Michael Bay and M Night Shyamalan combined. However he can't be as bad as Lucas was in the prequel trilogy and he's only directing the first one.

I just have little to no hope for Star Wars. The prequels killed it for me and I used to be a fanatic so if this is bad I won't care but if it's good, which I hope it is, I will be ecstatic.

He must not be in very many scenes, from what I understand he's near crippled from knee issues.
