Evans ruins the show. If they would axe him it would be a good TV show but still not a 'Top Gear' of yore.
I made the mistake of watching another TGUSA. Dear heavens, someone cancel that abortion already.

Episode 4 last night. Evan's much less part of the studio segment and toned down when he was. The films are all pre-produced. I'd say it's finding it's legs quickly. This is only the 4th episode, it's the best yet and better than a poor version of the old 'new' Top Gear. if they carry on with this trajectory it will be a good show.

I largely agree with you, although I kind of liked last week's just a touch better. I enjoyed the challenge film from last night's episode quite a bit. The drama created by cheap cars breaking down appears to have been replaced by some madcap hijinks with special guests - which in some ways is cool. Another set of excellent reviews from Chris and Rory.
They are retooling week to week, and the improvement is definitely evident, which is a great sign for the show. The old format took until series 3 until it was really watchable - the new show has gotten to watchable and entertaining in 4 episodes. That fact gives me a lot of hope.
That said, Star in a Rallycross Car was watchable despite its format. Brian Cox and Bear Grylls did ok with each other, but not quite as well as Kevin Hart and Joshua Anthony from last week. I still don't like the two-guest format, and I still don't like the audience participation bit.
