You southerners will never appreciated a frictionless driving surface that is only gifted to us in the north.
Few things are more fun than an iced & snow covered walmart parking lot at 3am

A foot of snow on the Interstate with no traffic.
You can't get up to 80 in a parking lot...
I saw a city street sweep truck (think shorter than it is wide) powersliding in snow one time.
First thought: Damn, that looked awesome. Second thought: WTF is a sweep truck doing out in January?
And then there was the time I was riding with a friend, going about 30 in the right-center lane of a four lane interstate with the left two lanes unplowed yet, and a Toyota pickup, lifted on 33s, blows past at about 65 full opposite-lock sideways, and even inside the car with the fan on full blast, I could HEAR the truck's occupants howling like the Duke boys.
It was at that moment that I'd found my role model.
On the RC snowplow video I like the part around 2:12 where he clips the rock wall, but they cut the film to try to hide it.

THIS.
They shut down the city here a couple years ago, and there was a foot and a half of powder on the highway that goes all around the city. It had been plowed once earlier, so it was ALL powder. The plows also didn't really know where the road was, so they plowed literally a 50 foot swath.
Yes. I was the only person on a 60 mile circular highway that was 50 feet wide with a foot and a half of powder. What do you think i did?
I can honestly say that was the most fun i've EVER had in a car.
I hate to be the voice of reason here, but wouldn't an ATV mounted plow do the same job better, cheaper, and also be an ATV when it isn't busy being a plow?
If you want real fun on ice, you should try ice racing. And no fear of getting a ticket. www.icerace.com

Yes, but the R.O.V. was controllable from his Lay-z-boy. didn't you see the PTZ camera?
and an plow on an ATV is no where near as cool
Edit: for PC correction
Sorry, but that is not a Robot, it is a Remotely Operated Vehicle or ROV. Robots are autonomous. Still very cool though.
Throw a snowblower on the front of it and some gps software and turn it loose. Small plows don't work in Ohio; the piles get too high to push. I can see money to be made here. The plow guy pulls around a trailer full of these, drops them off, picks them up when they're done. No more all night plowing since you can just drop them off and go back to bed.
You can sit in your underwear on the porch and remove snow from the driveway. I don't give a E36 M3 what you call it.

atv plows suck cause they are too light and that robot thingy will have the same issue.

I keep thinking it's about kicking a coke habit.
Should have built it with treads instead of wheels, less chance of getting stuck. Then put a flamethrower on top. Just so you can melt any ice, don'cha know.
Watching that makes me glad I live down here, though.
I immediately thought that for the northeast the ROV needs to be up-sized a bit. I was thinking a V8 Bronco fitted with Mythbuster style automation would get the job done much faster. It would be a little big for sidewalk duty but the driveway would be done in two passes. Safety might also be an issue with a 4000 lb plow vehicle remote controlled by a guy drinking in his recliner. But it would be fun.
