So where I work, we use neodymium magnets to mount a few things which need to be removable but the problem with these magnets are that they rust badly. I have so samarium-cobalt magnets on order to mess with and see if they will work but everything I have read is saying that the fracture really easily and I also don't know how they do against rust. This is in an outdoors application and it can't be anything that will damage the vehicle (aka can't be drilled thru and bolt or attached with adhesive). Is there something that is fairly strong that be used to mount a small enclosure to something like a pickup or bobcat?
Encapsulate the magnets in something?
I was kinda wondering about those. Does anyone know where to find some very strong ones that could be bolted to an enclosure?

That is an option but it effects the strength and doubles the price.

Ignore that. It is much more expensive then magnets.

I was just looking at those. For similar strength it is looking to be 4 or 5 times more expensive.
Cover the magnets in this?

We can get the manufacturer to do something very similar to that coating and it is kinda looking like that is our best option.

Guess you're using magnets then.

Guess so. I will tell the sales guys/ accountants to suck it up and stop being cheap and get the coated ones.
I hope you don't have to adhere to aluminum, then...
straps? tyewraps? mount it to a thule or yakima bar and towers (won't work on a forktruck though),
A lot depends on the size and mass of the unit being attached.
