I have bamboo that badly needs to be removed, and I wanted to see if anyone here has a business or knows a business that could do it. If possible, I'd love to give some GRM folks my business.
No rush, but I'd certainly like to tackle this sooner rather than later.
Don't know if they get down that far south but these guys might be able to assist or point you somewhere. https://nationalbamboo.com/about-us
Where about? Also is it clumping or running bamboo?
In reply to TJL (Forum Supporter) :
Clumping.
Consider me interested. Got any pics?
I opened this thread in order to text TJ 😂
Ha! Thanks
Colin are you in Sanford?
In reply to TJL (Forum Supporter) :
If there's gonna be explosives involved I'd be willing to help for the cost of nothing.
In reply to TJL (Forum Supporter) :
Yes I am.
In reply to Stampie :
Tempting, but the bamboo is a little too close to the house, and I don't think the neighbors would appreciate it.
Otherwise, I'd be totally down for explosives.

I have fire.
I can get on the train.
I'm not sure the train would appreciate me getting on it with fire.
Are you in the historic district? I am in an extremely similar situation and would be amenable to explosives as well. But only explosives painted in a color available in the 1950s.
Explosives will just spread the bamboo around. You need this:

Can you grab a picture of the boo? Just curious how much we are talking a out and what size.
I have had to remove bamboo. A lot of work. You remove it. Wait for more to pop up. Then you remove that. Rinse and repeat about 8 times.

Every time I scan past this thread title quickly, my brain reads it as "Orlando Bloom removal" which is something I may have to participate in if my wife ever gets near him.
Nuke it. That's the only way. Nuke it.

Sure thing. I'll share a picture here as soon as I can. It's localized to a small area behind the house.
My family had bamboo around our fence line growing up and it was clumping kind as well. Thanks to my dads agriculture degree, it was very very well taken care of, it made an amazing privacy fence. Are they fully sprouted or kinda fresh? Also, do you know the type of bamboo? That will effect how much work needs to be done in the removal, since some types are super stubborn.
Borrow JG's excavator and dig it up. Get every bit of root. If you think it might be a root, have been next to a root, or thought about being a root remove it. Otherwise, you will be digging it up again.
It's a lot like Kudzu. You have to get every bit of it or it will be back.
The clumping bamboo is pretty easy to control. I have removed a bunch if it. Typically im removing it to propagate it.
The running stuff is a nightmare.
Scrolling by this time I thought the thread title was Orlando Bomb Removal. Before realizing the error I came to the conclusion that is an item that probably shouldn't be done GRM style.
