...but I'll be damned if it gets much better than Mick Taylor-era Stones. Pulling a late nighter at work with Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile loaded up and blasting.
That is all. Gotta listen to the second half of Can't You Hear Me Knockin again.
Once again we agree on something music related. I said exactly the same thing to my kids (big fans of classic rock) once, and they both said they couldn't tell it from any other old Stones.

"I hope we're not too messianic - or a trifle too satanic - we just love to play the blues!" - Monkey Man
Man, I love the opening bars of that song. So cool and so full of menace.

meh, I like classic rock and the Stones of any era just don't do it for me. I won't change the station but it isn't like hearing Heart or ZZ Top or Led Zepplin. Or any of a dozen artists.
Yeah, I know it's blasphemy, but the Stones have never really done anything for me. In fact, I find them downright annoying.

I like them from about 1962 to about 1974. After that, I can take them or mostly leave them. But man, when they were in the zone, they were in the zone.
They're really one of those groups that are like whole different bands depending on period. I think most people tend to like one period and not many others. The Beatles are the same way, of course.

That's how I feel about most of the big bands from that era, Stones included.

I berkeleying LOVE sabbath, bonn scott era acdc, and zeppelin though.
Bonn Scott, yes. The rest, not so much. The Who makes me gag. Always liked Physical graffiti though. The one album the Zepp heads don't like. Figures.

Find me one Zep fan who doesn't like Physical Graffiti. Zep is one of those rare bands that really doesn't have any weak spots in their catalog.
None of my buddies that are zeppelin fans like that album. Not a single one. You are right. It's a solid catalog, I just don't care much for it. If zeppelin song comes on the radio, I change the station.
Tom_Spangler, I disagree about the entirety of Zep's catalog (I'm thinking "In Through the Out Door"), but I certainly agree about "Physical Graffiti"! Can't really dance to "Ten Years Gone", so here's an alternate selection:

Hey, it's only rock and roll..but I like it.

That punk bitch Jack White could do a half-assed cover of "In My Time of Dying," and it'd go platinum. Please don't tell him that.
The Stones have a special place in my heart because of the dirty, dirty things I did to a girl with "Beast of Burden" in the background. Giggity.

Just put "Sway" in a loop and revel in it.

I berkeleying love Sabbath - Vol 4 is a goddamn masterpiece. This brilliant mess from Sabotage with The Straightener riff change at 3:48 makes me drive like a berkeleying maniac.

Anyone who questions the awesome of Physical Graffiti or Mick Taylor Stones solos is part of the problem. I would chain them in a dimly lit basement next to my future wives , filled with weed smoke and black light and subject them to my entire berkeleyed up collection.

I am a Zep fan, and I love Physical Graffiti .
Another Physical Graffiti fan here but when Robert Plant formed the Honeydrippers I wanted to tear my ears off.
I have a '72 big block Road Runner in my shop right now. There's a working vintage 8-track hanging under the dash with Physical Graffiti in it.
Physical Graffiti is my favorite Zep album. When The Rover comes on satellite I always crank it up.
