Seemingly everyone “geeks out” about something in this, an age characterized by its overabundance of information. Enthusiasm became cool: we crave to connect our obsessions to the world around us in haphazard polyphony. In short, everything that once seemed weird about “Birdhouse in Your Soul” has become, well, normal.
Ah, so that could be one reason this song rings so true to my automotive ADD laced soul.
"Just a little Birdhouse in your Soul"
I prefer "Doctor Worm" for it's deep philosophical meaning. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
I thought of the song as soon as I saw the thread title and before I opened the thread. That song is just WEIRD, but it's also catchy.
Here's my favorite weird song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLrnkK2YEcE

"Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet" was the first thing I thought when I read this thread title. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)

BTW, if you haven't heard TMBG's cover of Chumbawamba "Tubthumping", I'm about to make your day. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/laugh-18.png)

Man, I love those guys. Have since Lincoln came out.
In reply to Teh E36 M3:
I've heard that on my Pandora stream. Didn't know there was a video but that surely sums up the weirdness factor.
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks
Every time I hear this radio commercial for some airline advertising "from dulles to dubai, Illinois (or some E36 M3) to Istambul", I always add (not constantinople) out loud.
In a bizarre way, I always associate that song with racing seats.
Particle Man isn't a philosophy, its a way of life.
You know everything that I know so I know you have the thoughts that make the silent noise that says that...
Everything right is wrong again.

Yep! The Four Lads did the original, I believe. So is "Why Does The Sun Shine?" (a NASA film strip theme from the early '60s), as well as "Everyone's My Friend In New York City", and "Yeah Yeah".

You just sucked one hour of my life away.
Some of those are fabulous (like GWAR doing Kansas) and some of them are awful, but I just spent about the last hour flipping through a portion of those covers.
There were some unexpected covers on that site. Awesome sauce.
I saw TMBG at a small venue in Richmond sometime back in the mid-90's. Great show! I just can't believe they have so many fans on this board, since most of you are culturally deprived knuckle draggers. ![](/media/img/icons/smilies/crazy-18.png)
Yep, I've been a fan for over 20 years and have seen them several times. They never disappoint.
I've seen them several times. They used to be my favorite band and I was super all about them. But unfortunately they are nowadays but a shadow of their former selves.
