Since the soy sauce thread was successful it's time for another one.
When I was growing up, my dad loved Miracle Whip while my mom grew up on Dukes. As a kid, I was all about the Miracle Whip but now can't stand it and made the switch to Dukes. My parents still argue about who is best and they are in their 80s.
Who is your favorite. Why.
Do you use one brand for sandwiches and another for potato or chicken salad?
If you make your own, you have to post the recipe.
I grew up on Miracle Whip. Still buy it. I will eat it all.
Wife hates Miracle Whip. We use a lot of Hellmann's. I have heard good things about Duke's but have not tried it.
Dammit, Bob! You're making it hard for me to be your friend.
In reply to John Welsh :
my wife hates all of it. All sauces except bbq and some buffalo.

Not a big fan of Miracle Whip, although it's better than a dry sammich and I'm not a whiner so I'll use it if it's all that's available.
Depending on the sales we buy either Hellman's or Kroger mayo. Perhaps my palate isn't that refined, but I can't really tell the difference.
I am a Hellmans guy but would try every option listed above but I have never seen anything offered other than Hellmans and the store brand equivalent.
One thing I can't stand is "sweet" so I dont do miracle whip or "dressing" as some call it. So if any of these mayos are sweeter than Hellmans I say to hell with that.
One thing I am - though - is a light mayo guy. I can't tell the difference between light and high-test.

Over here on the left half of the country the only ones in that picture we get are Hellmans (called best foods) and Kewpie if you go to an asian market. I too grew up on the sweetened, acidified miracle whip. Can't stand it.
Unpopular opinion. Kewpie is just miracle whip with a touch of added MSG. I don't get the love. Too sweet for me.
I guess I am a best foods man
Duke's only if we're using mayo....but my white-trash-adjacent upbringing means I love Miracle Whip too.
\I've gotten into the southwest/chipotle/spicy flavored mayo's recently. It really wakes a boring sammich up quickly. They seem to come and go in phases though. sometimes it takes months before I can find replacements.
None !
and if you are in Holland or Belgium you need to be quick or they will put Mayo on your "French fries"
Not fries, but...
At Chick-Fil-a, I like the Chicken Tenders.
For "sauce" on the tenders I put on Chick-fil-a brand Mayo and then Texas Pete hot sauce they have in packets.

I don't have a strong opinion, they're all OK with me, but I prefer Duke's. Just had it for the first time about 3 years ago, and it seems to be what I buy when I need it, which is not that often.
That said, I've started substituting avocados for any mayo/miracle whip on sandwiches and I prefer it. Not every situation - fried baloney on white bread will never be right with anything other than mayo - but most situations. Seeing as a jar of mayo lasted me about a year before I started doing this, it can't be more than a $10 difference for me over a year.

Try this, for a DIY:
- 1/2 cup Mayo/Mayo like product
- 1 TSP Black Pepper
- 2 TSP Cayenne
- 1 TSP Paprika
- 1 TSP Garlic Powder
- 1 TSP Onion Powder
Mix well, let sit for at least an hour. We've had it keep for up to 2 weeks with no discernable downgrade in quality, obviously you're not eating 1/2 cup of mayo at a time. Make it your own, try some Cumin, vinegar, chili powder, white pepper, curry, try varying the amounts... We do basically what is above with some vinegar for a dipping sauce.

You're not the boss of me!
The only one in that original pic I recognize is Hellmans. I checked my fridge and I have Kraft Avocado Oil based.
I guess I'm not picky about Mayo *shrug*. Am I doing it wrong?

Miracle whip is a lie.
I buy either kraft or hellman's with the olive oil.
In reply to mtn :
I started using spicy mustard about 3 years ago.
Duke's here. I also have this really good Chipotle mayo I use for sandwiches sometimes, can't remember the brand.
My typical go to for sandwiches is Duke's on one side, whole grain mustard on the other.

I'm with you. I thought they were all the same. I guess I don't eat enough mayo.

MIRACLE WHIP IS A VILE BLIGHT UPON THE FACE OF FOOD PREPARATION. It should never be allowed near either food nor living beings that might come in contact with it. I will leave googling for The Oatmeal webcomic about Miracle Whip as an exercise for the student. I myself think it tastes like you poured soybean oil (or worse) into a jar of dollar-store white frosting.
Kraft mayonnaise is only slightly less disgusting, but it is survivable if forced by necessity.
Hellman's (east of the Rockies) or Best (west of same) is the hands-down champion of commercially-made mayonnaises. I have heard good things about Duke's being a reasonable substitute, but oddly enough have not tried it.
Well, this at least beats talking about politics...
Mayonnaise/miracle whip does NOT belong on sandwiches. Rancid tasting, bizarre textured, gets all over everything, runny drywall mud in a jar.
That said, Aldi brand not miracle whip works almost as well as butter for a grilled cheese, and is surprisingly good to dip chicken in BEFORE baking. Makes a pretty good tuna macaroni salad too.
