I knew there was some kind of distinction in the tear drop tattoos, but I wasn't sure which was which. A prison guard I knew at the TDC hospital said that they represented the number of times they were butt berkeleyed. He was probably the toughest screw there. He found all kinds of shivs and the collection of shivs made from hospital equipment was quite amazing to view.
