We have discussed the Subaru ads, but I really like the new Kia Soul ads. OK, the music is not my style, but referreing to the competition as appliances is something we all relate to here. Toasters, washing machines, big cardboard boxes, oh yeah. Just really creative ad work. Hamsterdam? Well, OK.

Clever advertising, but jeesh that is an ugly appliance mobile.

Kia Soul driver = someone who thought "I can identify with a hip-hop hamster"
Thanks for the warning.
The Soul is not much more than an appliance, just a funky way to be an appliance. I do agree that it is good advertising though.
I wouldn't mind having that toaster from the ad.

I thought the toaster was a direct swipe at Scion xB's. The first generation of those looks like a toaster.
Not sure how the promise of a giant rodent iinfestations are supposed to sell cars. I thought the hamsters were supposed to run in their wheels under the hood, not drive.

That's a nickname for the 1gen xB. I was next to one in traffic over the weekend whose license plate read "TOASTER"
I think the ad campaign for the Soul is brilliant. It makes you laugh, and sticks with you.
Also, the Soul is a pretty nice car. I got the wife to test drive one and she liked it well enough. However the interior felt made of cheap and flimsy material. Also the 4spd auto killed it for me.
I've had the damn song from this ad stuck in my head all morning.

The only thing I currently dislike about the Soul is Kia refuses to let me order one with the red interior and the Alien Green paint. I WANT MAH WATAMELIN CAR!
I passed an almost fluorescent green Kia Koup today. Kia definitely doesn't want to be known for making bland cars.
Those would be REALLY good looking cars if they could be shrunk vertically.

Kia's been making a LOT of strides in the last 5 years. I have to say, were I shopping for new cars, and didn't have a penchant for boost, Kia would be on my list of stops.
soul = boxy appliance powered by hampsters (who like HipHop).
that's how I see the ad.
