I'd think the people watching there would get really good some time closer to 3am 
A couple nights I would stay a bit to see a band and it did get interesting. Working am's on the weekends is a close second watching the walk of shame headed toward the trains and young families going the other way looking disgusted.

We actually grabbed some thai in hells kitchen yesterday for lunch after the intrepid museum. $8 lunch with an app, entree, drink, and cocnut ice cream. And it was good too.
