I get to do it in a few weeks. Looks like fun in a painful sort of way..

I'm signed up for one this fall.

You'll have fun, it's much easier than everyone makes it out to be (most participants have a vested interest in keeping up the "mystique") because unless you're constantly at the forefront of your group, you're going to spend time waiting in lines for the obstacles.

Just don't do a Warrior Dash, those berkeleyers are only in it for the huge market "adventure racing" has become. Who runs out of water bottles, seriously?

Awesome. Once I heal the hamstring, I'm in.

I will be at one this summer, but only as a volunteer. My friends have enjoyed it, but unless you are out front, you will wait at most obstacles. Everyone complained about the cold the most, except for the girl who broke her ankle. (crossing an open field, never let your guard down!)

Cold plus waiting while soaking wet and covered in mud. Hmmm....not so fun. This one is at Whistler, the site of the 2010 winter Olympics and there will be some snow on the ground. I have to miss the biggest race of the year for this and I am having second thoughts.

What does a ham string sound like?

Sounds about like a low E on a cheap dreadnaught guitar.

I signed up to do one last spring but hurt my knee training for a marathon and had to bail on both.

The team went on to have a good time. They said it was physically pretty easy but freezing after you get wet and it's hard to climb ropes when you are E36 M3faced drunk so don't use too much bourbon to fend off the cold. My buddy who did it says to put a pair of boots and gloves in a back pack and change into them for all the wet obstacles so you can run in dry shoes.

I've done a mud run and the Warrior Dash before. Signed up for the Tough Mudder this fall in Charlotte.

The obstacles on the other two have been a joke to me, but I make up for it with my terrible running :(

Hope I can run 12 miles by the time November rolls around. Also hope I get over the after-approx-2-miles-I-need-to-take-a-huge-dump syndrome.

Not when they had one in Frederick. Screwed up the parking so bad it overflowed out on to US 15. State Police ended up not letting late arrivals enter and the city made them cancel the second day.
