October Baseball.

The Yankee/O's game last night, they had an interesting stat- IIRC, the last 57 games between the Yankees and the Red Sox, they are 28-27.  This year, they are 9-10.

This could be interesting.

Lets go out on a limb: 

Yanks beat Sox.  Astros beat Indians.  Dodgers beat Braves.  Brewers beat Rockies.

Astros beat Yanks.  Dodgers beat Brewers.

Astros win this year.

Milwaukee / Colorado series should be called Oktoberfest.

I resemble that remark. What is another year of “October off” jokes? On the bright side they ended the season on a 2 game winning streak! 

On the other hand, I’m a second generation prodigal son of Boston and wannabe Mshiny happy person. As such I'm a casual fan of Boston teams.  Also, I’ve held a burning fire of not-nice-feelings for the pinstriped cheaters since the subway series in 2000.

I come to mock David Price.  He needs a shrink.  Badly.

Having said that, has anybody other than the Dodgers had a starting pitcher go deep this year?  Kershaw went 8, on 84 or 85 pitches, and was ready for the ninth when they parked him  Ryu went deep, as well.  That is about it of the games I've watched.

The bullpens are going to be tuckered out by World Series time if this keeps up.

I know that, but starters are still expected to make more than an inning and two thirds.  

With as often as the bullpen is used this season these guys seem to be able to pitch many more innings than in past years.  My brewers have been basically using them after the 5th.  All of them pitched consecutive games as well.

I’m very happy with the outcome of the Boston game last night, even more so that they did it in the Bronx.

I'm three for four on my bets so far.  I chose the Yanks in this series, just because it seems foolish to bet against them.  That was one serious ass whupping last night...And very interesting in that it was only run # 16 that was scored on a home run.  Fourth? inning was just a whole series of "Hit it where they ain"t", and that doesn't always work.  I love the idea of playing small ball, but a big hitting crew will usually overwhelm.

I haven't counted the Yanks out yet, by any means.  Don't particularly care, either.  I see no reason to change my Astros/Dodgers world series bet.

No E36 M3.  I was preparing for game five all through the ninth.

Looks like Milwaukee came to win tonight ,they seem to be firing on all cylinders tonight.

I am in LA and I am not sure I am pulling for LA, with almost TWICE the salary as the Brewer's

I'm very ticked off @ MLB. I root for the Cards & live far from STL. I also don't watch a lot of TV so I decline to buy cable. I pay for MLB & watch it over my internet supplier Xfinity. My MLB subscription includes post season but only through a cable supplier. Supposedly you can watch for free through Facebook but that works about as well as a Yugo wiyh a rod knock. Any suggestions?

Nice canoe from thunder8.

These championship series have had some darn good baseball.  I fear my original American League picks are going to be significantly wrong.  I am starting to think the Sox didn't finish first in the regular season by accident.

Yeah, but you also have to wonder how much of that was due to the American League being historically bad. Seriously, I can't remember the last time there was that much disparity from the top to the bottom half.

True.  It was good to have Baltimore around so the Jays could regularly kick some ass.  I will point out, though, there are a few ex-Jays still playing...

Future Jays hold promise.  They have put some real effort into their farm system, and are growing some really good ball players.

I was just re- reading this thread, and the Sox are still making runs without ever sending the ball out of the park.  I still say a team that can regularly get base hits will generally beat one that lives for the long ball, and it looks like I'm still right.

Well, Boston started putting it out of the park. 

All credit to Price.  He finally got over his post season yips, and pitched a fine game.

As a long time Sox fan I was hoping for this but was expecting an implosion. 

I would like to cheer for the Dodgers, but every time Puig does something stupid, I want to beat his childish, lazy, showboating face in.  If he would pay any attention to the game, he could be great.  Instead, he licks his bat, misses fly balls and nonchalants his way around the bases

And yet, here I am in the bottom of the eighth in game three, cheering for the Dodgers.  I even praised Puig for hustling out a single a few innongs ago.

I find my brain to be an odd place some days.

Good baseball so far.
