Can't agree with this one.

Kermit: Piggy got back
This just popped up on my "Morcheeba" station on Pandora.
I'm.... not sure what to think.

Sixth Finger - Paint It Black (Yes.... THAT Paint it Black)
Ooh, here's one: Townes Van Zandt's version of "Dead Flowers". It's hard to believe that it is a Stones tune.
Saxon's cover of Christopher Cross's "Ride Like the Wind" rules. They took a cheesy guilty pleasure and made it guiltier.
Lorde's version aggravates me because of the super-high backup singers going "Royaaaaaals!"
Aggravating.
Somebody linked this. A seven foot tall clown singing it makes it awesome.

Paul Simon, and Simon and Garfunkel, are 2 of my very favorite acts; with the former being among my very favorite songwriters. I think Sounds of Silence is one of the better songs I've ever heard; their rendition is amazing.
I hate heavy metal.
Disturbed covered Sounds of Silence, and it is incredible.

No cover that I know of, but does anyone know of a link to "Thousand Dollar Car" by Bottle Rockets? That oughta be our theme around here...

Six Feet Under did a whole album covering AC/DC rock n roll ain't noise pollution the whole thing was actually pretty good
How have I not seen this thread?!
Sure, I'm responding to opinions from six years ago, but here is my take for best version of Satisfaction.
Björk and PJ Harvey.
Sorry Justin Timberlake, Glen Hansard did it better:

Chet Faker - No Diggity
Seven Nation Army lends itself well:

Of course Vyvienne Long can do no wrong.

I really like Rob zombies version of American Band.Disturbeds Sound Of Silence is good although it's an odd cover.
I don't listen to much 'traditional' music...that said:
ECHO (original Vocaloid song)
Original (Crusher-P w Gumi vocals)
Koufuku na Shi wo
Overall the take away is even if the remixes are more awesome than the originals, humans still sing better than computers... for now.
While not a cover, this collaboration IS better than the original
