Oh I need one of those.. wood one so i can make a mold and make it out of carbon fiber... if I was rich - i'd probally be dead...

Bring knee pads.. An uncle back in the 60s raced these with tweaked 9.9hps... Always complained of sore knees from the pounding over the water...

One of my cousins built a couple of small plywood hydroplanes. He used to claim that they would go over 25 mph with a 7hp outboard.

25 on water in something that small could be pretty punishing.

About that same time I watched them race on the Quinebaug River in Ct. As a kid I was impressed by the speed; moreso by the tight 180's they had to make before going over the dam.
