This bill is so important they can't wait to fill it with crap that would never pass otherwise.
That crap that would never pass otherwise they call "sweeteners".
If I opposed this bill and had any principles at all, I'd spit in the face of the senators that thought they could bribe me. However, that's probably why I haven't and probably never will be elected to public office. Poor people skills you see...
You guys can't honestly believe anything is going to happen until it is politically expedient do you?
Just before the election a "solution" will magically appear.
This is the equivalent of the Magicians beautiful assistant who is supposed to distract you while the magician does his magic. This is a ready made (or is it manufactured?) vote getter.
Notice Obama isn't even really campaigning. The Dems have changed strategies and are now campaigning under the Bailout Banner.
The Dems have had the power to put any bailout plan in place they'd like but they haven't. If this wasn't an election year it would have been settled ages ago so don't believe even a quarter of what you read.
The problem is that although this all started as more like a dip in public confidence in Fannie and was more akin to a run on a bank than anything else it has now become a lot more real in myriad spin off ways. As they say "perception is reality" and now some people believe there is really a problem bigger than what has become the norm or "The American Way" for decades.
The thing I find slightly ironic (well, not really) is that the original bill was a pretty straight forward bill giving money to bail out financial institutions. The (supposedly) less government, less spending Republicans didn't vote for it yet the (supposedly) more government, more spending Dems did. The new one appears and it is crammed full of crap that has NOTHING to do with the bail out, and it is supposed to appeal to the Republicans (!?).
Face it, there is not difference between these parties, they are both about shoveling as much money as possible in their direction with little regard for it's affect on the country as a whole.
I didn't think it was possible to hate this BS two party system more than I already do.

The difference between the two parties is that they're not the same!

Fan is spinning, poo is being flung.
Another drone air strike means almost nothing, unless UBL goes down.
I see the house passed the bill. Oh boy, that's 700 bil we won't be needing. Plus the 150 bil for things like a tax break for a toy wooden arrow company. Oh yeah, that helps me.
Why do I get the feeling that $350bn will be used for "ocean front property renovations in North Waziristan"

UBL? Did you mean OBL?
Usama and Osama are both media correct spellings
well its done and passed..
Only time will tell if this was a good idea or not.
as for me.. Where can I get some of that wooden arrow money.
Now, now, they are not actually giving all those "deserving" people money, they are just giving them tax breaks... that's completely different... well actually it isn't, it's pretty much exactly the same...
but "the populace" doesn't think so, so is all good.

Don't worry. They'll make sure your taxes break you.
Will the Chinese stifle my religious freedom when they take over? I don't think I can survive life without the PCHC.
