Okay. New riddle.

All right, I though up a new riddle. I hope it's not too easy, so I'll start with just a couple of hints.

My first name is a homophone and my last name a homograph.

I come new on many cars but only work when I'm used.

and i guess an airconditioner only works when used? but isnt that true of most things?
