Where do old mail trucks go? Has one ever been raced in Lemons?
My understanding is The Grumman ones (Current Chevy powerd "classic mailtruck") get destroyed. The only ones in the public space are the short run of them Grumman made for public consumption.
There are tons of older DJ5 Jeep delivery vehicles. They are a basic 2WD body on frame Jeep with a solid front axle that should weigh around 2500lbs. I'm sure some Miata Subframes and any old 150ish HP engine would make for a reasonably entertaining track car.
And look, one has been done for Lemons.
They're basically an S10 shortbed with an iron duke and a narrowed front track. Bolt on Grumman box, stickers, boom.... mail truck.
It would be an interesting lemons spec class.
There has been a RHD Subaru Legacy wagon mail car in Lemons, but no actual mail truck that I'm aware of.
