Yeah, I don't think my 12" Ryobi would be up for doing 500 decks, but even as an amateur, I tend to learn my lesson after the 3rd time :) I hope I wouldn't screw up 499 times putting in a deck.
When I sold my craftsman, it had thousands of cuts over 10 years or so, and never had a problem with precision, but thousands of cuts would be like a week, week and a half for a professional.

I also don't have a ton of different wood working equipment, I have the 12" miter saw, 10" portable table saw, 10" circ saw, and a sawzall. All of them have to pull multiple duties.
All I can add is that non-sliding units are cheaper, and not worth saving the money. GET A SLIDING UNIT. I wish I had one.
