Local and new, damn good Vietnamese Restaurant started last week with $1 Beer Tuesdays. This week was $1 Great Lakes Christmas Ale from 5pm till close.
Our group of 6 assembled. We told the owner to choose and just send over food. After appetizers, about 5 entries arrived, each fantastic. Add to that about a half-dozen of the Yuletide brew and the total bill was less than $20 per person.
My wife refrained and drove me the two miles home. Perfect.
Next week, The 12 Dogs of Christmas, for $1.

Christmas Ale is good stuff! Working on my second six pack after not getting any last year.
Apparently, too much Viet-food leaves me groggy and slow in the morning.
Strangely, very thirsty and dry mouthed considering the amount of liquids that went in.
Great Lakes is my favorite brewery - I miss their beer now that I'm "up North".
Gotta stock up on Christmas Ale, that stuff gets hard to find quick.
Apparently I need to start spending Tuesday nights in Sandusky. I like Vietnamese food.
GL > thirsty dog.
however i won't turn down 12 dogs.

Just occurred to me how bloody good that deal is. One Kroger near me has Christmas Ale for $9.99/6, and the other is $11.99/6
Reviving an old thread...

A good welcome after weeks of various Christmas Ales (each for only $1)
But.. as good as the Stout was, the one thing I have learned from the evening is that St. Bernardus Abt 12 is good. How good?...Iike 18yr old Bob Costas good!

Add that to some Spicy Basil Beef.
We are very lucky here in my small town to have the second location of the bar named as having the best beer selection in the entire country.

So when is the Ohio meet at this venue planned for?
Loved their Elliot Ness Lager. Sadly can't get it out my ways.
