Guy loses control on a rainy curve, hits a tree hard enough to split his 300ZX in half. Lives. http://www.tbo.com/news/breaking-news/winter-haven-man-survives-crash-that-splits-car-in-half-20150930/ Hospital probably had to cut his pants off carefully.
Well, he was drunk and speeding on a wet road. I'd say his luck is mostly that he didn't kill anyone.

I don't consider a 1986 300ZX to be a sports car. It was more of a GT car in my book. Too heavy. Anyway, that dumbass is lucky to be alive and lucky he didn't kill anyone else. Drunk drivers suck. Hopefully he recovers so he can spend time in jail.
Can I point out how freaking tough Mother Nature is? That tree looks like it has been hit before, and today it split a car in half and only lost some bark. It will probably shrug it off and just keep on growing. Don't mess with trees man.
His daughter should sue Nissan...

can't … they never claimed it was a racecar
Well, it is Florida...
I can't count how many times the Gandy Blvd bridge in Tampa was closed because some mouth-breather couldn't handle driving in a straight line for 4 miles. It seemed like every morning there was a wreck on one of the local bridges (Courtney Campbell Causeway, Howard Franklin and the Sunshine Skyway).
How berkeleying hard is it to drive in a straight line!?

Not to mention the next two trees look like they have claimed a car as well.

I like how the collision unpicked the spot welds at the firewall. A nice clean separation. That would take me a week with a drill bit to do.

Perfect reason to sue the state for installing a curve in the road to cause that accident. His state of intoxication had no bearing on the unexpected occurance of a road that wasn't straight...
