what I find amazing about ciagarette smokers... everyone knows they are bad for you, will cause bad breath, bad teeth, cancer.. and that unless you live in NC, cost a E36 M3 ton of money.. and yet new young people pick the habit up everyday
Math ahead... 10 mpg car would pay 15.6 cent per gallon. 20 mpg car would pay 31.2 cents per gallon. 30 mpg car would pay 46.8 cents per gallon.
My poor little Escort can get 50 mpg on a good highway run...that would be 78 cents per gallon. Saw an ad for a 100 mpg hybrid...$1.56 per gallon!
Tax break for people who get less than 19.23 mpg!
Might take public transportation instead.

actually there are 6 states where cigarettes cost less than NC ( as far as tax is concerned ... greed of shop owners not considered )
NC = 45¢ per pack tax
ND = 44¢
Ala = 42¢
Ga = 37¢
La = 36¢
Va = 30¢
Mo = 17¢
so cheapest in the south ( NY = $4.35/pack, RI = $3.46, Conn and Wa = $3)
But then most things are cheapest in the south. We are usually right to work states too.
