racist.....
Personally, I had the urge to go cook off a few rounds into the air this morning. Understanding gravity, I passed. Thank you US military.

Also by Twain: "I couldn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice note saying I approved."
"...is Pakistan's intelligence service blind?"
No, but it has been infiltrated by bin Laden loyalists. That's why you keep seeing news stories about how Pakistan or the U.S. JUST MISSED blowing up this or that rebel stronghold.
As someone who served in the Navy, I couldn't be prouder that it was "us" and not the Marines (for once) that got a job done....not to diss any Marine.
Why did it take 10 years of a full on war to accomplish this, why couldn't we have dusted off letters of marque and reprisal?
So many American lives were lost and people so seriously injured.
I'm glad we got the bastard though.
Berkley you Pakistan! You had him right under your nose! No wonder we didn't ask permission to swap that fly.
I think/hope there will be some serious fall out from the fact that Pakistan has been sheltering him all this time. A mansion just outside the capital of Pakistan?
Obama - Osama? Both terrorists!
They'll keep the body so they can drag it out and parade it around when the rumors start that it was a body double or something like that.
My wife heard the news this morning explaining the time line looked squarely at me and said "Cover Up. He's either been dead for months or someone is looking at pushing through a defense reduction bill."
In reply to John Brown: Very well could have been. I would have suspected a cover up would come at election time, though.
Sounds a lot like a Tom Clancy book- "An elite team of Seals, led by John Kelly and Ding Chavez................."
Timing's wrong for a cover up. There's not really anything extra to gain by releasing this info now.

But on the other hand, they didn't fly a helicopter in, engage in a firefight, and fly out from an area near a Pakastani military base without someone "looking the other way".
I admit I am also suspect of the helicopter being downed due to mechanical failure... that sounds like "They shot us down, but we don't want to tell you about it" to me.

Ya know... my very first thought when I heard was - Who's strategic plan is this and what do they want?
Is that a sign that I'm too cynical or that the whole world is so corrupt that you really cannot believe anything at face value?
Burial at sea = dumped out the back of a chopper from 10,000 feet. Possibly higher to maximize splatter effect.

"mechanical failure" - engines don't run after they've digested a bunch of lead.
Just like O's comment that the operators "took care to avoid civliian casualties" - I looked at my wife and said they took care but there must have been some casualties despite their efforts to "take care".
