After just shy of a year, my randomly picked outdoor speaker finally gave up the ghost. On dissection, battery and circuitry looked good, but some corrosion around the Mic port which we never used anyway.

I'm looking for something new. Portability would be nice, but not a huge requirement. It doesn't need to rattle the neighbors windows either. Waterproof and Bluetooth are the only real requirements.

I see tiny JBL speakers for over a hundred and PA looking boxes going for 60-70 bucks.

I'm not super concerned with name brand or audiophile level quality, just want music when I'm cooking/playing cards/working outside.

So what do you have that you like?

We just bought one of these:

JVC Rover Bluetooth Speaker

30 watts, gets pretty loud, 30 hours of battery life, you can charge a device with it through the USB port, sounds pretty good, and seems like it's actually water resistant. Has a FM radio built in, and you can play a guitar through it or sing along with a mic when you get bored of yard work! We like it so far. Only knock I can give it is that the handle is fixed. I wish it folded. But that's the only knock I have.

I have 6 of these disbursed around the house and yard. Paired together they sound like a whole house radio. They put out pretty good audio. IIRC you can pair up to 20 of them.
